As a holistic, integral, solution-focused therapist, my approach is to create a caring and compassionate environment that enables clients process difficult emotions, resolve past traumas, and experience lasting change. I provide client-centered support and practical feedback to help clients access their intrinsic wisdom to resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. With sensitivity and compassion, I help clients find solutions to a wide range of life challenges and existential issues.
Blending conventional and alternative approaches, I draw on a variety of modalities and interventions to incorporate what will be most helpful for each unique client. I help clients build on their strengths, heal traumatic life experiences, find meaning, reduce stress, enhance the quality of their life, reach their life goals, and build resilience to face future challenges.
Specializing in trauma resolution, mood disorders (depression, anxiety), addictions and recovery, eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating), relationships, grief counseling, stress reduction using mindfulness-based techniques, as well as mindfulness-based skills training groups for trauma, anxiety, and addictions.
I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). SE is a body-awareness approach to trauma that helps people track sensations in order to safely discharge highly aroused survival energies, allowing the body to complete incomplete defensive responses, in order to "re-negotiate" the traumatic experience and restore balanced and coherent functioning to the nervous system.
